Seán Street's Poetry featured in Exhibition

14 July - 20 August

Atrium Gallery Bournemouth University Poole House, Talbot Campus Fern Barrow, Poole Dorset BH12 5BB Time Between Tides: The Poetry of Seán Street Exhibition: Thursday 14 July - Saturday 20 August 2011 Open Monday - Saturday, 9am - 6pm, free admission The exhibition features the work of the following artists: George Dannatt, Frank Finn, Elisabeth Frink, John Fuller, Michael Gough, Tony Paul, Bernard Miles Pearson and Jemma Street. Seán Street is a writer, radio producer and presenter, academic, and poet. His work is regularly heard on the main BBC Radio networks, and has also been broadcast on Australian, Canadian, Irish and US radio. He has published seven collections of poetry, the most recent being Time Between Tides (Rockingham Press). Throughout his life, Street’s poetry has been linked to landscape and a sense of place. This being the case, it is not surprising that he has enjoyed working collaboratively – both directly and indirectly – with a number of visual artists. This exhibition draws together some examples of these meetings of minds. Time Between Tides is the title of Street’s latest collection, which includes poems written over the past ten years, with a selection from previous collections, dating back to 1981. The title implies a moment of pause and reflection; thus this exhibition is, in every sense, a retrospective.
