Sounding Out 5, the international sound symposium being held at Bournemouth University between 8 - 10 September 2010 is now open for papers, sound installations and registration. Already the directors of the conference, Sean Street and Alain Renaud have received some exciting proposals of work from all over the world, including Hong Kong, Australia and the U.S. The deadline for submissions is 1 June, and there is also a call for papers. Details are on the website. Speakers booked include composer Jonathan Harvey, Sound Designer Larry Syder, and radio producers Dirk Maggs and Kaye Mortley. www.soundingout.bournemouth.ac.uk
